Putney's oldest pub, and it's best kept secret

An Independent gem in the heart of south west London

About Us

Originally founded as The Waterman's Arms in 1826 to serve the local ship builders of Putney, our traditional London local has been serving the residents of Putney for almost 200 years.

Saved from closure and reborn in 2020, The Bricklayers Arms is a cosy and traditional pub that has quickly become a focal point of the local community, and a beacon for cask and craft beer lovers across London.

From the carefully selected music to our thoughtfully curated drinks menu, our exceptional team is dedicated to providing a unique and memorable experience for all our guests. Whether you're out with friends or simply looking to quench your thirst, we invite you to spend your evening with us at The Brick.

Our Vision

Pubs are at the heart of British culture, they are a space for friends, families, and communities to come together.

In the UK, over 500 pubs are closing every year, with many of the ones that remain being owned by a small number of large companies that have forgotten what pubs are meant to be about - Great beer, great service, and bringing people together.

We are independently owned, and pride ourselves on putting our customers at the heart of our business. From working with local suppliers, to hosting community events, our locals are what fuels our passion.

Our Pride & Joy

Craft Beer

From award winning British lagers to American style IPA's and pale ales, we champion the best craft beer from London and surrounding areas.

Cask Ales

A quintessential staple of a British pub. With 9 rotational cask ale lines, we work closely with local, regional, and national breweries to showcase the very best of British beer. From timeless classics from Timothy Taylor to modern styles from Five Points Brewing, Howling Hops, and many more; we are confident we have something for every taste.

Whiskey & Stouts

We currently offer 26 of the finest Irish whiskeys, carefully selected to offer a premium drinking experience. From smooth blends to rich single malts, our whiskey collection is a true reflection of Ireland's distilling expertise.

In addition to the best pint of Guinness in South West London, we regularly feature other Irish staples such as Murphey's, Brennan's Irish Stout, and Rye River Brewing Co.
